If you're my friend on Facebook, you're probably about sick of the 1,353,301 pictures that I have posted over the past 24 hours (or all the time for that matter). :)
Basically... I LOVE it here. I've wanted to come here for years, and to be here for fashion is just the icing on the cake.
I do not start my internship until Monday, where I will meet with Stacy and the rest of the BMG team to work on some huge projects, meetings, events, and shows coming up! I will keep you all informed to the best of my ability.
I'll be the assistant to the following people: the Social Media/Special Projects Manager, the Executive Community Assistant, and to (the founder herself) Stacy.
Some of my responsibilities are as follows:
- Social media up-keep/maintenance (brainstorming ideas for posts, check on comments, see what other social media opportunities are available, put together reports based on the feedback received, and research new apps related to the fashion industry, posting to Instagram/Tumblr/YouTube/Twitter, etc.)
*A special project will also be taking place in this department, but I'll talk more about that as it unfolds.
- Assistant to the assistant (inventory, expenses, personalization, show-room maintenance, photoshop, checking on press-books for meetings)
- Assistant to the founder/CCO, aka Stacy (assist with PR/marketing/events, photo-shoots, campaigns, etc.)
I start work this coming Monday! My mother and Steve are here until then, so I'm just going to tour the city with them until my start date, then they will leave and I'll be on my own!
So excited for this journey, as I learn more about independence and transition into the woman I know that I'm destined to be.
On another note, I already have a food recommendation as of day #1! MexiBBQ is absolutely delicious, their BBQ brisket tacos were phenomenal. Just the right amount of tenderness, mixed with their signature barbeque sauce. All mixed with cilantro and fresh onions!
They have a variety of options, from southern fried chicken to turkey quesadillas! They are also known for their ribs and other barbeque favorites. If you're in NYC, check it out! They just opened a new location on 37 W. 30th St. #11. :)

As I become more NYC savvy, I'll post more recommendations on food, shopping, and of course updates on my internship!
More to come, stay tuned!
XOXO,
Jayy Fabulous
