Good morning my dear readers, it is a very rainy, dreary day over here in the Upper East Side.

Okay, minus the dreary. There is never a dreary day when you're in the city!

I had a full day of exploration planned (NYU, Little Italy, Washington Square, etc...), but that will probably have to wait until tomorrow, or Friday... or Saturday. ;)

By the way, Happy Shavuot! (That's the holiday that I have the day off for)

This week I'm starting a new segment that I will post about every Thursday! Feel free to comment your choice/answers to all the "This or That's" I post. I LOVE hearing your opinions on that latest trends, so this will kind of give me an idea of what you all prefer!

Today's main theme: skinny jeans!

Skinnies are my ultimate go-to clothing item. You can dress them up, or create a sporty look. Ultimately, it's your decision!

There are so many different types of skinnies, but the types I am going to focus on today are...

NYC Have-To's: Madison Avenue

I'm pretty sure I spent about 30 blocks just walking in, and salivating.
Yes, perfect fashion can make me drool. #NoApologies

Madison Avenue: Where you'll walk about 50+ blocks without realizing you're way too far away from home. Yes, it's the perffffffff.

Despite the blisters left on my feet from a bad shoe choice (love my tan Wassio Target-brand flats though) from my little journey, I had the most perfect day here in the city.

Ralph Lauren. Christian Dior. Barney's (only the most upscale retail score their is, along side Bendel's and Bergdorf's). J. Crew. Michael Kors... just to name a few not listed above.

It is the most upscale, sophisticated shopping avenue known to man, I swear it.

I walked in several stores, and managed to get conned into trying on $700 pieces... which I fell in love with it. Apparently I dressed the part of an Upper East Sider with a deep wallet.

I also passed Vera Wang and Cartier... which are two of my dream wedding designers (wedding dress and engagement ring, respectively).

I found a new (okay, new to me), awesome but pricey, place to get all of this season's summer-swim essentials.

Okay, okay... the prices are a little unrealistic, but they had the most chic choices for any beach party.

+ They have some of the sweetest sales associates.

I'm having an amazing time up here, as you all can tell.

On a hungry girl note: I had dinner with a new friend tonight at a place called Bocado Wine Bar and Restaurant. I had a shrimp sandwich (jumbo shrimp, bacon, tomato, and chipotle mayo) with a side of fries, and it wasn't too shabby! It was way too tall though, too much for me, but yummy.

Oh, and I guess I'll share my kind-of #OOTD.

If you know me, you know me that I have serious girl-crush on Blake Lively.

I mean, come on, tell me ONE thing that is wrong with her.

I'll take that imaginary silence as a sign that you cannot find anything either.  Gossip Girl is my favorite show of all time, but that is not the only reason why she is my all-time favorite Hollywood beauty.

She is beautiful, but not attention seeking. She's sweet, but won't let anyone talk down to her. I've gathered all of this by watching interviews involving Lively, as well as articles and biographies.

I loved her as Serena van der Woodsen, but I'm pretty much obsessed with this fashionista when she's not in character.

Look her up on Google, Pinterest, Tumblr, and pretty much every other blog/search engine, and you'll see that this girl never misses a beat with her fashion decisions.

And bt-dubs: She is her OWN stylist and make-up artist. How down-to-earth and cool is that?

Alright, I'll stop obsessing before you all starting thinking that I've switched teams. ;)

NYC: Food, Food, FOOD.

Hello, fellow fashionistas and misters!

Today was an amazing day at BMG, I'm learning a lot and having a blast as well. Blessed, blessed, blessed.

I road the subway solo, and had absolutely no problems. Who said blondes were stupid!? ;)

Deli? Nah, a Feast! (Lunch)

On my lunch hour today, I wasn't really sure where to eat, but since NYC is such a huge city with multiple options I just kind of walked until I hit somewhere with food (this took a solid 15 seconds at the most).

I was so surprised with how well this decision turned out. The sign said "deli," so all I expected was mediocre sandwiches the price of gold.

WRONG. There were rows and rows of choices, from sushi to noodles, fried chicken to roasted potatoes, and then of course there were sandwiches.  All of those things were great, but the salad bar was where it was at. Eggs, chicken, onion, crunchy noodles... the combinations were endless.

Alert, alert: I have now been introduced to one of the coolest websites on the planet.  You just pick a restaurant, select your order, and check out paying via debit/credit card. Then your order will arrive within the next 25-40 minutes.

To be honest, I took a solid 45 minutes before even picking a restaurant.

But, I did finally make a decision! I chose Wrap Star on the Upper East Side.

I know, out of all the sushi, Chinese food, Greek food, etc., I chose a place that throws some meat inside a tortilla.

I promise you... this was a great decision!

This place has 30+ wrap options, but the most interesting one I found was the "Thanksgiving Wrap," which consists of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, and corn.

I got the "Chicken Fajita Wrap" with a side of sweet potatoes fries (that salad I had for lunch left me craving some bad food).

The Life of a Boy Meets Girl Intern: Day #1 = Success :)

Well, it's done!
 
Day numero uno is under my belt, and I could not be happier with the results.  I had such a blast getting to know Stacy and the rest of the BMG team. From social media, inventory, promotions, design, events, etc... they do it all, and I'm so excited to be a part of it.
 
I will admit that I am exhausted and I'm being extremely lazy right now, snuggled up in my main man's Strong Gym t-shirt (miss you boo thang, xoxo) and some VS sweat pants, but I would take being exhausted in NYC over being fully awake and aware in Missouri....
 
Oops, that probably struck a nerve or two. ;)
 
But, back to the point, I'll just share a few photos from my first day at the BMG office!

Yes, my mother took my picture before work... don't worry people, I'll be an independent woman after tomorrow. #AloneInTheCity

Yes, my boss had a Gossip Girl poster ready for me at my desk when I showed up today. Her line was featured in the show a few times! :)

 

You know you're in a good place when the only thing dividing your "office" from someone else's is a rack of fabulous clothes.

 

Yes, I decorated later, but this was just part of the huge project I worked on today. Rompers, tights, graphic tee's... oh my!

This will be the only day that this will be clean. Big meetings coming up, which means busy... busy... BUSY!

Oh, and I also had freebies waiting for me on my desk. A BMG graphic tee, a skirt, and leggings! Almost scored some free shoes... but they were not my size.

 

This pass allows me access to the World Wide Apparel Building... it's not open to the public.

 

And then, to celebrate the end of my first day, we stopped at Lili's Asian Cuisine/Sushi Bar. Definitely different than good 'ol Missouri deep-fried, greasy sushi... but I loved it! :)

 
My whole day was not able to be covered with pictures, so my apologies! I was able to go on a full tour, and I wish I could have snapped a picture of the showroom! It is phenomenal. So many great outfits and designs, but I'll save that for my next post.

NYC = "Wicked" Amazing!

Hey there readers, I hope all is well in Missouri, or wherever you are.

I recommend moving to NYC... but of course, that's just me. ;)

Well, yesterday was a busy day of hustle and bustle. As soon as we turned the corner onto 3rd Avenue, there were food trucks, clothing stands, antique booths, and so much more for miles and miles.  We stopped and checked out a few, but it would have taken weeks to check out all of it. I'm hoping that that is something that will happen regularly!

Upper East Side market, it stretched for miles.

Then, we were able to do the thing I have been waiting on this entire time: visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art (aka, "The Met").

We went and looked at the paintings, sculptures, etc... until I realized that I could not force myself to be all artistically interested.

I took pictures, stared at confusing paintings, and tried to make sense of sculptures that looked like mangled rock.

Let's just say that I'm meant to go learn more about the art of fashion.

My one goal through-out this whole experience: to sit on the Steps of The Met like Blair Waldorf.

Yes, I made my mother move down a couple steps. #QueenBMoment

            
Next, we started off the day with walking through Central Park. If I were still a runner (Last time I ran? It's probably best if I don't travel that far back in time ;]), Central Park would be the place.  There are so many amazing trails, architecture, and scenery!  We had lunch there because my mother just had to have a "hot dog in Central Park," which at first I was disgusted with.

But guess what!? There is SO much more food than just hot dogs. Food stands for miles and miles. I actually got to enjoy an "organic" chicken sandwich at Relish, a large food stand just on the outside of a carnival that is constantly running at the park.  I was a little skeptical at first, as I'm not really a huge fan of greasy-like foods anymore, but... it was satisfying and somewhat healthy!

After taking a little break in Central Park for a late lunch, we started making our way back onto Broadway! Here, we walked, went into H&M (again), and got our tickets for Wicked! It is a little pricey to see a Broadway production, but it is so worth it! Wicked was a real treat, but before I get to that, there is an even more special part of the day I need to touch base on.

The 9/11 Memorial. As beautiful as the memorial was, it is important to remember how tragic of a day that really was.  If you are around the same age as me, or younger, it is probably a little difficult to remember what all went down that day.  All I remember is sitting in Mrs. Turner's class, watching her turn the TV towards her desk so that we couldn't see.

I recommend visiting this memorial. Whether to reflect on the day as you remember it, or to inform those who were not alive to experience it. #NeverForget

With a little rush and stress, we managed to make it back to Broadway via subway to grab some Starbucks and McDonalds (classy, I know). We made it to the door at 7:46 (show is at 8, by the way), just enough time to shove our Big Mac's down our throats. (Tip: I don't recommend going all the way to the other side of the city before seeing a Broadway musical. If you miss the show, your money will not be returned... and believe me, it's money you don't want to lose.)

Wicked... Wow. Just wow. If you know me, you know that I am a skeptic when it comes to musicals.

Okay, a little more than that. I completely loathe them.

But this... it was amazing! Witty, hilarious, and even the singing was on point. Oh, and the runner-up of season 1 of American Idol, Justin Guarini, plays Fieryo.

Basically, I loved it. It was a good way of showing that we cannot know everything due to only having an outsider's perspective.

About 2 minutes 'til Wicked started. Yeah, we were quite punctual yesterday.

                   
I know this entry seems so scattered, but I have so much to say and frankly, little time to type it all!

BUT on a final note, I did find my new church home this morning.  It is called Every Nation in NYC, and it is like a miniature James River Assembly. So welcoming and modern, exactly how I like the church I choose to be! :)
